Joan Burton, take a bow. While Vincent Browne’s programme has seen some epic car crashes in its time, perhaps none matched that witnessed earlier on tonight. It was a bizarre and awkward performance.
Has anyone ever refered to Joe Higgins as “your MEPship” before?
Thankfully, Conor from Dublinopinion.com got a few seconds of it recorded, but with Joan Burton trending worldwide on Twitter at the moment, it’s likely the TV3 site will see a huge spike in traffic tomorrow. Someone in Ballymount, get it online now!

Jesus titty fuckin’ Christ! I would probably have been inclined to vote Labour in the election, but who the fuck wants to be responsible for putting that fruitloop into any kind of position of power? She’s done a massive amount of damage to Labour and will be leaving them with some serious firefighting to do. I don’t think a public apology would be going too far.
[…] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Robert Munnelly and Leonie Delaney, Come Here To Me. Come Here To Me said: http://tinyurl.com/6l2expc reports around Ballymount of a car crash. Joan Burton's political career seriously injured. #vinb #ge11 […]
I’ll be spoiling my vote this time. What a feckin’ shower, there’s not one of them worth a wank. Even Comrade joe has turned into a caricature. Fuck ’em, revolution NOW!!!
I was watching this live last night. I’d already decided to vote Labour by default and then I watched Joan Burton. She couldn’t shut up while at the same time spouting nothing more than the usual PR generalisations that have become standard stock for all our gombeen politicians in the last few decades. She was all over the place. I think I’ll still have little other choice than to vote Labour but I’m not expecting any miracles. Even Joe Higgins started to look good beside her.
Desperate!
Do we really want her as a finance spokesperson. Thought she had said some valid points against the gov during the past two years. Labour must be feeling threatened by the ULA.
Pity you didn’t include the bit where Joan starts accusing Joe of being sexist, but nice post anyhow.
Will vote as left as I can, perhaps next time that will yield some fecken options!
Amazing bit of telly, I thought the Shorthall performance was woeful but this takes the biscuit.
It’s not been a good week for Labour so far.
