Hi,
Would anyone know if Senator David Norris also spoke a few (well more than a few!) words at the unveiling of the brass plaque and dedication of 10 Fownes Street by Dr. Noel Browne, on 28th June 1980 ?
If it was the time, I was passing by with my girlfriend and wondered what the fuss was about and I remember David Norris speaking passionately and making us all laugh with whatever he had to say!
Happy Memories,
Harry
I was responsible for getting the plaque in place before Dr. Browne arrived. I can’t remember David speaking, although Eamon Somers (standing to left of Dr. Browne in photo) did say a few words when introducing Noel.
I’m pretty sure the photo was taken by Tony O’Shea

Hi Guys… I have been in contact with Derek Speirs, the photographer credited in the Dr Noel Browne Hirschfeld Centre photo, he has confirmed this photo was not taken by him. I am also contacting Tonie Walsh at the IQA to let him know the credit is wrong.
Thanks Karl, let us know. Best wishes.
Thanks for that Karl. Not sure where the mix up happened but the Hirschfeld Centre plaque unveiling was photographed (to the best of my knowledge) by Tony O’Shea. I am trying to get confirmation of same.
Regards, Tonie
