In the short, five years spanning 1980 to 1985, The Blades released six of the finest singles ever made by an Irish band or any New Wave act from the period.
Finally, for the first time these singles (both A side and B sides) are available to listen to on Youtube.
Enjoy.

Great idea ! Was delighted to see Paul Cleary turning out with the Cajun Kings down at Electric Picnic. No fuss – just the man and his guitar, doing his stuff, no fuss.
That’s triggered a multitude of memories; now and here’s not the place for them. Anyroad I have about the house a couple of bootlegs from the SFX [late 85 CND benefit I think] and RTE [in concert session, Spring 85, with a few tunes that didn’t appear anywhere else]; if you know how to get them up for sharing let me know, they’re on cassette and I’m not up to speed on how to transfer. Sold all the vinyl in Freebird about 20 years ago so can’t fill in any other gaps.
Niall if you email fanningsessions at gmail dot com I can do the transfer for you or help you through the process if you want to do it yourself.
