A bendy little lane that links Exchequer St. (entry is between Boulevard Cafe and Music Maker) and Trinity St. (entry is between Hilfiger Denim and Leon: The Pastry Cafe), synonymous with the Andrew’s Lane nightclub, Maser graffiti and Grift’s old Batman piece.
Cars still drive through it, so you have to be careful while walking down it (especially at night) because it’s very narrow.
You might like to know that St.Andrew Lane and St.Andrew St are built over a megalithic tomb probably as big as Newgrange. The Vikings built their parliament The Thing on top and when Henry 11 came to Dublin he also built a temporary palace there to ‘welcome’ the Irish princes. The gradient was much steeper in the 1940s than it is now. If you stand in the area and imagine the water level of the Liffey it will give you an idea how imposing this tomb must have been before the quays and street were built up.
