My uncle Donal, based in London since 1972, is over in Dublin at the moment. Today, he dropped a shopping bag full of political pamphlets into me at work. Spanning from 1963 till 1989, the collection is quite stunning. I hope to scan most of them up over the next few months. If anyone wants me to scan one up in particular just leave a comment.

Wow. Thats a really interesting collection. Although rather oddly I recognise some of them as the texts I read when I was 11/12/13 and first interested in politics. The teoric’s though I’ve never seen and look amazing.
jaysus, nearly all worth scanning, reckon Connolly’s would aleady be online though?
The “Economics of Partition” pamphlet is a real find as it is the original January 1969 edition. It was later revised to become the basis of the Two Nations theory. I haven’t read that edition you have there and would love to compare it to the later versions. I doubt if anyone else would find it interesting though, as the history of the (British and) Irish Communist Organisation and the Two Nations theory borders on left-wing trainspotting, but I’d love to have a look at it some time Jay.
The teachings of Padraig Pearse, again, a bit of a find as the pamphlet is by “A. Raftery” – the pseudonym of Paddy Carmody, Irish Workers Party/Communist Party of Ireland and the editor of “Irish Socialist” (up to c.1974). He was their most original thinker and his introduction to Pearse is often cited but again I haven’t come across it that often. An important pamphlet in the intellectual history of the Irish communist movement.
