Introduction:As a youngster, it was the fanzines I wanted at Richmond Park quicker than the match programme. If you have Dublin League of Ireland fanzines, please get in touch and I’d love to include them on the site. I hope in time we can establish a small online section with examples from each Dublin club, everything from Some Ecstasy to Eccles Is Innocent! All of these fanzines are a credit to the people who took the time to get them out there.
PDF below, best viewed in full screen.
An excellent one this, the very witty Only Fools and Horses fanzine from Bohs supporters.
Did you get it? The title is a reference to Shamrock Rovers, who at the time were playing their home fixtures at the RDS.
“Happy among the Horse Shit” was rejected by us on the grounds that it’s the name of their new fanzine
A thank you note to the staff of Ulsterbus for returning a Bohs tricolour appears on page 7, and the review of other fanzines in the league on the last page is excellent. No Way Referee, the Bray Wanderers effort, will appear on this site shortly, and I hope we will manage to secure a scan or two of Some Ecstasy, the Rovers effort. Only Fools and Horses reckons one would do better to “…spend your hard-earned dosh on a twin-pack of luxury toilet roll”, than to give that one a read however.
A 20 page effort, cover to cover, this one came into my hands thanks to Kevin Brannigan. Scanned up, it will be back in his hands soon. Credit is mainly due to the owner of the fanzine, Neil Mulvey, for passing it on to him and allowing it to appear here. Issues of Eccles is Innocent and The Dalymount Roar will appear here soon, from the same source. It’s sad so many younger fans at LOI games will be completely unfamiliar with the culture of the fanzine. If you’ve got more, drop me a mail. League of Ireland forums and supporters have been very good to us to date,so I hope we can provide a variety of fanzines here representing every loyalty in the city.

Next up: No Way Referee!
I happen to have a few issues of Some Ecstasy and I *think* No Way Referee, along with Galway and Cork fanzines. If I can dig them out of the attic next time I’m at home I’ll get in touch.
^ Would be delighted with a few scans of Some Esctasy.
EcstaSY, not CY. A pats fan and I can’t even spell my drugs.
