Its been a while since I’ve done one of these posts. Normally I take a load of snaps in one afternoon and pick out the seven or eight that stand out the most. I haven’t done so in the last while but I have managed to cobble together a few pictures I’ve taken over the last couple of weeks for a post anyways.
Below is a picture I took whilst putting up flags pre-game a couple of weeks ago, I think against Sligo. Obviously I’ve photoshopped it ever-so-slightly, but I like the contrast between the pitch and the dark clouds on the horizon. Arty.
Below is a mad spot on the way home from work the other day. Anyone who can tell us where this is wins a date with your choice of CHTM! author at a venue and date of your choosing. You’re paying though.
Willie Bermingham is a man who my Ma always spoke highly of. A Dublin Fireman and by all accounts an absolute hero in the true sense of the word, Bermingham founded the ALONE charity after coming across the squalid living conditions of some of Dublin’s citizens in his work. ALONE is a charity I have no problems about wholeheartedly endorsing.
Below is a scene myself and JayCarax came across last week. Nothing amiss, the bloke was just sitting there, taking the world in, while his dog sat happy in the carrier basket of his owners bike. Such is life in Dublin on a sunny Sunday morning!
Dublin has many Churches without steeples, but how many steeples are there in Dublin without churches? I’d be very interested in hearing about more examples. The one below is a stones throw away from Kilmainham Jail.
An absolute opportunist snap below, hence the blurriness. I never copped this street sign before, but it has to be without a doubt the fanciest street sign in Dublin.
Finishing off the piece are two very different aspects of street art. Zero Four / Love Lamp stuff has been doing the rounds for a few years now but the below seems new enough.
No explanation required… ALERTA!
This greenest of cars is in Kilmainham, here’s a shot I took of it during the summer – Remarkably it has undergone a (bad) paint job since then.

Here’s another extreme auto-gardening shot of the same Citroen.

Regarding steeples without churches: a 1960s/ 1970s church in Dun Laoghaire stands beside, but unconnected to a steeple from a previous church. The steeple is all that remains of a 19th century church destroyed in a fire.
Looks like I’m going bald in that first pic!
I have a strong suspicion that gaff is squatted. The one with the car. Look closely and you can see that the two houses there are connected.
